When running away is the only way.

Three and half years ago my husband and I uprooted our family to start a new life half way across the world. The decision was out of necessity to safeguard our own children. My parents are always trying to hustle us, our friends and anyone who comes into our circle. They have used and abused every connection and ripped off every single person I know.

Somehow they managed to once talk my brother’s flatmate, who owned the house they lived in, into selling his jeep to them for next to nothing, well swap $2k drugs for a jeep was worth about $20k. The kid was counting on making some money then then reversing the deal a few days later by saying his dad wants the car back. His father did find out and he did asked for the car to be returned but of course my mum said – take a hike mate! My brother was then asked to find somewhere else to live. Mum just thought it was fabulous as she now had a new car. It didn’t cross her mind my brother was now homeless and just lost a friend.

Everywhere my parents go they leave a trail of destruction. One Sunday afternoon my folks took my husband out for lunch, which was a first. He went expecting to eat a meal and maybe bond a bit. Then , behind my back they jointly offered to have our kids adopted out to distant relatives. Yip, that’s right. Of course my husband didn’t and he wouldn’t. Thankfully he didn’t tell me until years later which I think was to protect my sanity. All hell would of broken lose had I known. Why would they do that? Who gives their grandchildren away? Apparently they got some idea into their heads we should have freedom which meant getting rid of the kids.

Another time, again behind my back, my father had my eldest son deal drugs to his school mates. When my mother inlaw found out she marched my son down to cop shop to dob him in. When I confronted him and asked for the truth he lied and said he would never do that and Like a gullible fool I believed him. It took years to finally for the penny to finally drop because I really believe he would not lie to me. But, my dad needed my son to carry the risk as he is no fool and didn’t want to go to prison again as he did a long stint. How can a grandfather put his own grandchild in that situation?

Hence, a one way ticket for the family was the only option. Now far away from my folks I am on a journey to create my own life without their infamous, insanity and influence. No one here knows anything about my past until perhaps next year when my father come to visit.

Important to me = family, adventure, music, freedom, nature and travel........ I spend my time paddle boarding, kayaking, do charity work and am always keen to learn new things with my family. I love working out and daydreaming. I spend most of my time feeling confused and trying to figure shit out. I’m introverted but most people think I’m the opposite. My ambitions are to be a calmer and free.......have endless adventures and interesting days. Most of all I love my family.
